Great Art Undiscovered
Burt travels through Europe and the United States looking at the history of great artists who were never appreciated during their lifetime. Vincent Van Gogh lived at the end of the 1800s and during his life sold one or two paintings. These days, a single work by Van Gogh goes for over $100 million dollars. Same for Van Gogh’s friend, Paul Gauguin. Ignored during his life, his works now sell for over $300 million a painting. Burt introduces viewers to Artrepreneur and shows artists how to sell their work on the site.
How to Sell the Art You Create
Burt learns how painters, sculptures, photographers and other artists can use the internet to bring their work to the attention of the public. He traces the success of artists, in Europe and the United States and how they used the internet to gain access to the art market without being represented by a major gallery. He shows us how to use Artrepreneur to present our works and why the idea of being an unknown artist might be coming to an end.
Every visual work communicates an idea and has the power to change perceptions, opinions, styles, habits, and even people’s way of life. Join the Artrepreneur Community to be part of the conversation. Whether you want to showcase yourself and your work, find a creative job, hire talent, buy your next art piece, or want to learn about the business of art, Artrepreneur is your starting point.
about Burt Wolf
Since 1980, I have been traveling around the world making television programs about history, culture, and gastronomy. Over the years, I have written, edited and published books, consulted for major corporations and governments on product development & marketing, built and ran a restaurant, worked in the travel industry. I also developed the earliest company to publish portfolios of museum-quality photography by many of the world’s greatest photographers. Along the way, I took about 20,000 photographs so I would remember where I had been and what I did. A selection of those photographs is now on this site.
